Focus on…

        Cuthbert Esquire Dukes (1890-1977), a distinguished London pathologist, established a system for classifying the stages of colorectal cancer. The Dukes' system for classifying the extent of tumor spread is used throughout the world as a surgical guide and prognostic aid in treatment, although it is today complemented by the TNM system of classifying malignant tumors.
