The minimum training requirements for capsule endoscopy (CE) are primarily based on
society guidelines and expert opinion. Objective measures for assessment of competence
in CE are lacking and the recommended minimal training has not been evaluated. We
developed a training program incorporating current society recommendations and a formalized
assessment tool to evaluate competency for GI fellows.
