Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) is an endoscopic technique for the treatment of achalasia and esophageal spastic disorders. The Eckardt score has been traditionally used as a clinical parameter to assess the efficacy of the procedure. The association between the Eckardt score and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in POEM patients has not been fully elucidated.
