Published:August 22, 2022DOI:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.gie.2022.08.025

Cannulation of the papilla of Vater by endoscopy and retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
This innovation rapidly evolved to therapeutic utility that has progressively supplanted more invasive surgical interventions for a variety of biliary and pancreatic conditions, most notably choledocholithiasis and acquired strictures.
